After SSR and Pot Notes, we wrote our daily journal. Today we began the Special Education unit. The instruction included going over Section 504, IEP, different types of learning and mental disabilities, and also IDEA (Individual with Disability Education). I learned that section 504 explains that federal law prohibits discrimination against otherwise qualified individuals with disabilities. IDEA is the act that governs special education programs and practices. We also learned there are many cases of special education that isn't limited to just such cases as down syndrome and autism.
